When the season ends, though, fans of the Pistons can expect Joe Dumars to take Iverson’s salary slot and start building another title contender. Already some building blocks are in place. Tayshaun Prince has developed into an above average player. In addition, Rodney Stuckey and Amir J...

Before Allen Iverson came to town the Detroit Pistons were undefeated. In the ten games with “The Answer” the Pistons have been 5-5. The story told by the Pistons to explain this outcome is that the team simply hasn’t found the right “chemistry”. Here is how Iverson described the situatio...

If you lived in Boston or Detroit - or any team playing the Lakers in the 1980s (other than the Clippers) - this is a cheer you often heard. Magic Johnson, James Worthy, and the entire Showtime cast were clearly the enemy. And five times in the 1980s, the enemy took the title (yes, I am a Piston...

Once upon a time Shaquille O'Neal and Grant Hill were two of the most dominant players in the game. Ten years ago (the 1997-98 season) Grant Hill produced 16.7 wins for the Detroit Pistons. That same season, Shaquille O'Neal posted a 0.311 WP48 [Wins Produced per 48 minutes] for the LA Lakers...

We put the Pistons in our crosshairs last night on "The Knee Jerks," the weekly gabfest I co-host on Blog Talk Radio with Big Al Beaton, who's rapidly beginning his own Internet writing empire. That's because our guest was beat writer Dave Pemberton of the Oakland Press, whose blog about the team can be found here. Dave got us caught up on the latest news surrounding the possible sale of the team, went over his mid-season grades, and talked about the near and long term future of the REALLY Bad Boys. Chalk it up perhaps to his professionalism, but you'll hear that Dave didn't seem quite as visibly shaken as Al and I are about the Pistons' future. Big Al On the Red Wings: They're getting players back. They're going to be one scary SOB come playoff time."
