The Sports Xchange reports Ducks C Samuel Pahlsson, a top penalty-killer and anchor of the checking line, assumed a spot on the top power-play unit Sunday against the Coyotes in place of suspended RW Corey Perry, who is out until Jan. 11 while serving a four-game suspension.

Miller back up with Ducks

The Sports Xchange reports Ducks LW Drew Miller made his season debut Sunday against the Coyotes after having been recalled Saturday from American League affiliate Iowa. He didn't have a point in 8:54 of ice time Sunday.

Flyers rookie right wing Claude Giroux is out indefinitely after sustaining a mild concussion in the Anaheim game Friday. Ducks forward Corey Perry was suspended four games for the elbow to Giroux.

Niedermayer has two assists

Anaheim D Scott Niedermayer helped out on both of the goals the Ducks scored against the Coyotes in a 2-0 shutout on Sunday. He had two assists in the game on goals scored by Bobby Ryan and Chris Pronger. Niedermayer has at least a point in three of his last four games.

Ducks G Jonas Hiller stopped 29 shots and earned his third shutout of the season on Sunday against the Coyotes. giving Giguere the night off, Hiller has now won three of his last four starts while Giggy has struggled recently.
